Ethereum ETF inflows end 20-day streak with 152 million USD withdrawn.
Ethereum spot ETFs in America recorded net outflows of up to 152.3 million USD on August 1, officially closing a 20-day capital withdrawal streak – the longest in the history of this product.
According to data from Farside Investors, this is the largest net withdrawal since January 8. Over the preceding 20-day period, Ethereum ETFs have attracted a total of nearly 5.4 billion USD, with an average of about 270 million USD per day – the highest ever, both in terms of duration and scale.
James Butterfill, Director of Research at CoinShares, believes that the reason for the reversal of capital flows is due to macroeconomic factors, particularly the latest statement from the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) and economic data from America exceeding expectations last week.
BlackRock leads growth
As of June 30, Ethereum ETFs have attracted approximately 4.3 billion USD in net cash flow. However, just in July, this figure increased by nearly 5.4 billion USD, equivalent to a 126% increase.
Most of this growth comes from BlackRock's ETHA fund. According to Bloomberg's senior ETF analyst, Eric Balchunas, ETHA is the third largest capital-raising ETF in July with nearly 4.2 billion USD, accounting for 78% of the total inflow into Ethereum funds.
Only two funds surpass ETHA, which are BlackRock's Bitcoin ETF (IBIT) and Vanguard S&P 500 ETF (VOO). Balchunas often describes this phenomenon as "Beta with a bit of Bitcoin." However, with the strong presence of Ethereum, he stated that a new homophonic term is needed, such as:
As of August 1, the total inflow into the ETHA fund has exceeded 9.7 billion USD.
