A certain scammer used AI audio depth forgery to steal 2 million dollars in Crypto Assets.
According to ChainCatcher news reported by Protos, scammers are using AI tools to steal crypto assets through deep fakes and wallet drainers. Decentralized Finance (DeFi) developer Joey Santoro said that a fren of his recently lost 2 million dollars in a complex deep fake scam. The scammers used deepfake audio of Paul Faecks, the founder of the stablecoin blockchain Plasma, to pitch a consultant position to Santoro's fren and lured the victim into opening a file during the call, thereby obtaining their password and private key. Santoro warned users to isolate their crypto assets from everyday devices as much as possible.
